Reduce Your Energy Bills with Smart Clean Energy

Clean Energy Renewables is a Silicon Valley–based firm licensed in California (Lic #1119067). We specialize in solar, battery backup, EV charging, and clean energy consulting for premium homes.
Menlo Park is known for its trees. Streets in the Willows, Allied Arts, Linfield Oaks, and Sharon Heights are lined with mature canopy, and the city has a heritage tree ordinance that protects certain large trees, so removing a tree that shades your roof is not always an option. Solar design here starts with the question of how to produce power from the sun you actually get, with the trees staying.
Clean Energy Renewables is a Silicon Valley-based, California-licensed contractor (License #1119067). Journeyman electricians and C-10 contractors oversee all electrical and roof interfaces.
Where trees cannot or should not come down, design has to adapt. We run a shade analysis across the seasons, place panels on the planes that do best, and leave out spots that would underperform. Enphase microinverters help because they keep a shaded panel from limiting the others. We will also tell you directly if a roof’s shading makes the economics weak.
Menlo Park’s tree rules are worth checking if you are considering trimming. Before you assume a tree can be removed or heavily pruned for solar, confirm with the city.

Our streamlined process makes it easy for homeowners to transition to solar with confidence, from your first consultation to a fully operational system built for years of dependable performance:
we evaluate your energy usage, roof condition, and future electricity needs.
a detailed inspection of roof orientation, shading, and structural integrity.
every system is professionally engineered to California building and electrical standards.
we manage paperwork and coordinate with local authorities and utility providers.
completed by journeyman electricians working alongside licensed C-10 contractors.
we coordinate final inspections, utility approvals, and smart monitoring setup.
The housing varies, from older homes in the Willows and Allied Arts to newer construction closer to the bay. Older roofs deserve a closer look. We inspect roof condition and framing, check remaining life, and recommend reroofing first if it is warranted, because removing and reinstalling an array later adds cost.
Menlo Park houses that predate heavy electrification may have electrical services sized for a different era. If you want solar, a battery, and an EV charger, the main panel’s capacity is a design constraint. We do a load calculation and propose the least invasive route, whether that is load management, a smaller battery, or a panel upgrade.

Menlo Park appeared in PG&E’s list of potentially affected San Mateo County communities in the October 2019 Public Safety Power Shutoffs. We install Tesla Powerwall and Enphase IQ batteries that back up essential circuits, and Enphase systems let you select which circuits stay powered. We also ask about work-from-home equipment and internet, since those are often the circuits people want to keep on.
We install Tesla Wall Connectors and other Level 2 home chargers, after a panel capacity check. If you plan on solar and charger together, designing both at once avoids paying for panel work twice.
Menlo Park is in San Mateo County, so generation comes from WestLight Energy (formerly Peninsula Clean Energy) and PG&E delivers it.
New solar customers are on PG&E’s net billing tariff, where export credits are modest, so we model your actual usage and discuss storage. The 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit ended for expenditures after December 31, 2025, so we do not assume it in new proposals.
We offer diagnostics, inverter and battery replacement, system expansion, and removal and reinstall for roof replacement. Output that sags as trees grow is a common cause of service calls, and a site inspection can confirm it.

Let us help reduce your energy bills with solar panels, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging. As one of the best solar companies serving the Bay Area, Peninsula Valley, we offer complete design, permitting, and installation services so you can tap into clean electricity while maintaining grid independence. Our crew includes journeyman electricians and licensed C-10 solar energy contractors to ensure electrical code compliance and durable installations.

We design and install grid-tied solar systems using high-efficiency panels and Enphase microinverters, paired with advanced smart monitoring.

We install home batteries, such as Tesla Powerwall or Enphase IQ, to store surplus solar power generated during the day so you can use it at night or when the power goes out.

We install all types of EV chargers, from wall-mounted connectors to outlets. Our service includes an electrical-panel assessment, permit handling, and installation in compliance with local codes.

For homeowners with older systems, particularly those who wish to stay on California’s NEM2 program, we provide safe removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of solar arrays with updated hardware.

A solar array can generate power for decades if properly maintained. We offer performance monitoring, diagnostic testing, inverter and battery replacements, and system expansions, such as adding extra panels or storage.

Our consultations are complimentary to give you the space to ask questions and understand what clean energy can realistically deliver for you. We assess your electricity use, roof orientation, and shading, then present a clear design with equipment choices, warranties, and projected savings.

Check with the city first. Menlo Park has a heritage tree ordinance, and protected trees cannot simply be removed. We design around existing trees when we can.
Often, but we inspect it first. If the roof is near the end of its life, we recommend addressing it before panels go on.
Not always. We run the load calculation and choose the least costly route.
In most cases, yes. We confirm compatibility with your inverter and panels.
