Reduce Your Energy Bills with Smart Clean Energy

Clean Energy Renewables is a Silicon Valley–based firm licensed in California (Lic #1119067). We specialize in solar, battery backup, EV charging, and clean energy consulting for premium homes.
Burlingame’s older housing stock sets the tone for solar here. Spanish Revival and Mediterranean homes with clay tile roofs are common in neighborhoods like Burlingame Park, Easton Addition, and Mills Estate, and homeowners who already have solar often come to us with the second round of questions: roof replacements, aging inverters, expansion, and what happens to their utility terms.
Clean Energy Renewables handles both sides, new installations and work on existing systems. We are licensed in California (License #1119067), and journeyman electricians and C-10 contractors oversee the electrical and roof interfaces.
Tile roofs take extra care. Tiles may need to be lifted or replaced around attachment points, flashing details matter, and cracked tile is easier to catch before panels go on than after. We inspect the roof, check its condition and remaining life, and flag problems early. If the roof is near the end of its service life, we would rather talk about reroofing first than put new panels on a roof that will need to come off.
Tree-lined streets near Burlingame Avenue bring seasonal shade, so we map shading across the year and use Enphase microinverters so partial shade on one panel does not drag down the others.

Our streamlined process makes it easy for homeowners to transition to solar with confidence, from your first consultation to a fully operational system built for years of dependable performance:
we evaluate your energy usage, roof condition, and future electricity needs.
a detailed inspection of roof orientation, shading, and structural integrity.
every system is professionally engineered to California building and electrical standards.
we manage paperwork and coordinate with local authorities and utility providers.
completed by journeyman electricians working alongside licensed C-10 contractors.
we coordinate final inspections, utility approvals, and smart monitoring setup.
Net Energy Metering 2 closed to new applicants in April 2023. Customers already on it can generally stay for 20 years from their Permission to Operate date, and that status can be worth protecting because export credits under today’s net billing tariff are much lower.
That is why our removal and reinstall service exists. For homeowners who want to keep their NEM 2 terms, we safely remove an aging array, refurbish or update the hardware, and reinstall it. We also handle roof-replacement removal and reinstall, expansion within the allowed threshold (generally up to the greater of 1 kW or 10% of the original size, one time), inverter and battery replacement, and diagnostics when production drops.
Because details of your original interconnection and PTO date decide what is possible, bring your paperwork to the consultation. We will tell you what can change without risking your tariff.

Burlingame partners with Symbium for instant plan review and permit issuance for residential PV and energy storage systems. EV charger projects and anything that does not fit the platform go through the city’s standard electronic application. We prepare the drawings and manage the permit, inspections, and PG&E interconnection.
Let us help reduce your energy bills with solar panels, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging. As one of the best solar companies serving the Bay Area, Peninsula Valley, we offer complete design, permitting, and installation services so you can tap into clean electricity while maintaining grid independence. Our crew includes journeyman electricians and licensed C-10 solar energy contractors to ensure electrical code compliance and durable installations.

We design and install grid-tied solar systems using high-efficiency panels and Enphase microinverters, paired with advanced smart monitoring.

We install home batteries, such as Tesla Powerwall or Enphase IQ, to store surplus solar power generated during the day so you can use it at night or when the power goes out.

We install all types of EV chargers, from wall-mounted connectors to outlets. Our service includes an electrical-panel assessment, permit handling, and installation in compliance with local codes.

For homeowners with older systems, particularly those who wish to stay on California’s NEM2 program, we provide safe removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of solar arrays with updated hardware.

A solar array can generate power for decades if properly maintained. We offer performance monitoring, diagnostic testing, inverter and battery replacements, and system expansions, such as adding extra panels or storage.

Our consultations are complimentary to give you the space to ask questions and understand what clean energy can realistically deliver for you. We assess your electricity use, roof orientation, and shading, then present a clear design with equipment choices, warranties, and projected savings.
Detached and tucked-away garages are common in older Burlingame homes, and the run from the main panel to the garage can be long. We check panel capacity and route options before quoting a charger. For storage, we install Tesla Powerwall and Enphase IQ batteries, sized to the essential circuits you want to power. Burlingame was one of the cities PG&E listed in its 2019 Public Safety Power Shutoffs, which is why backup comes up often.

Settle that before the roofer arrives. Our removal and reinstall service is built for homeowners who want to stay on NEM 2, and we check the details against your PTO paperwork and utility terms before any work starts.
A one-time expansion of up to 1 kW or 10% of the original system, whichever is greater, is generally allowed. Larger additions can move the system to the current tariff.
Labor and materials can differ, and we quote after inspecting your roof. We do not guess prices from a phone call.
Common causes include failed inverters or optimizers, wiring faults, new shade, and dirt. Diagnostics tell us which one before we replace anything.
