Solar Installation in Peninsula Valley, CA

“Peninsula Valley” is how Clean Energy Renewables describes the communities it serves on the San Francisco Peninsula and nearby parts of Silicon Valley. This page explains how solar works across that area and points you to the city page that fits your address, since the right answer depends on your utility, roof, and neighborhood.

Clean Energy Renewables is a Silicon Valley-based residential energy contractor licensed in California (License #1119067). The company was founded in 2023 by a solar technician with 13 years in the field. Journeyman electricians and C-10 contractors oversee the electrical and roof interfaces, and we design, permit, install, and maintain solar, battery, and EV charging systems.

Your utility decides a lot

Most homes in San Mateo County buy their electricity generation from WestLight Energy (formerly Peninsula Clean Energy), while PG&E delivers it and sends one bill. New solar customers on PG&E are under the net billing tariff, which pays far less for exported power than NEM 2 did. Homeowners who interconnected before April 2023 may still be on NEM 2 for 20 years from their Permission to Operate date.

Palo Alto is different. The City of Palo Alto Utilities runs its own electricity service and net metering programs, so PG&E tariff guidance does not apply there. If you are not sure who serves your address, your bill will tell us in seconds.

How a project works

We start with a free consultation: we review bills, the roof, shading, and backup needs, then present equipment options and modeled output. A site survey and design follow, with stamped drawings where the jurisdiction requires them. We handle permits and utility interconnection through Permission to Operate. Installation follows journeyman-standard electrical work, then inspection, commissioning, monitoring setup, and training. You receive as-built documentation and warranty details.

Incentives

The federal 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit ended for expenditures after December 31, 2025. State and utility programs change often, and many have been waitlisted. We do not promise any rebate or savings, and we tell you what we can verify at the time of your consultation.
