Reduce Your Energy Bills with Smart Clean Energy

Clean Energy Renewables is a Silicon Valley–based firm licensed in California (Lic #1119067). We specialize in solar, battery backup, EV charging, and clean energy consulting for premium homes.
Belmont is built on a slope. The flatter blocks near El Camino Real and the Caltrain line give way to Sterling Downs, the Carlmont area, and streets that climb into wooded hills. Two houses a few blocks apart can have completely different solar potential, because the sun reaches them differently and the trees around them are not the same. Clean Energy Renewables designs Belmont solar systems from a measured site survey rather than a citywide assumption.
Our team is based in Silicon Valley and licensed in California (License #1119067), with journeyman electricians and C-10 contractors overseeing the electrical and roof interfaces on every installation.
Shade is the main design variable on many Belmont lots. A redwood or oak that is harmless in January can shadow a roof plane through a summer afternoon, and a hillside can block low sun long before the official sunset.
We map shading through the day and year, then place panels where they earn their keep and leave out spots that would underperform. Enphase microinverters help here, since each panel works independently and one shaded panel does not drag a whole string down. We will also tell you plainly when a roof plane is not worth covering.

Our streamlined process makes it easy for homeowners to transition to solar with confidence, from your first consultation to a fully operational system built for years of dependable performance:
we evaluate your energy usage, roof condition, and future electricity needs.
a detailed inspection of roof orientation, shading, and structural integrity.
every system is professionally engineered to California building and electrical standards.
we manage paperwork and coordinate with local authorities and utility providers.
completed by journeyman electricians working alongside licensed C-10 contractors.
we coordinate final inspections, utility approvals, and smart monitoring setup.
The City of Belmont partnered with Symbium for automated permitting that complies with state law SB 379, and residential solar, battery, and EV charger permits can go through that portal. The platform checks code compliance and can issue a permit without a manual review, assuming the project fits its rules. Our job is to feed it accurate drawings and details, then manage inspections and the PG&E interconnection process that follows.

Belmont was named among the San Mateo County cities in PG&E’s October 2019 Public Safety Power Shutoffs, and hilly, tree-lined neighborhoods tend to worry about outages whenever wind and dry conditions line up. A battery turns solar from a daytime-only system into one that can keep selected circuits running.
We install Tesla Powerwall and Enphase IQ batteries. Enphase batteries are modular, so capacity can grow, and the system lets you choose which circuits stay powered. Powerwall suits homeowners who want broader backup, depending on the electrical setup. We size either one to your usage and backup priorities, not to the largest model available.
Belmont is in San Mateo County, so your generation comes from WestLight Energy (formerly Peninsula Clean Energy) and PG&E delivers it. New solar customers on PG&E are on the net billing tariff, where exported power earns much less credit than it did under NEM 2. That makes self-consumption matter, and it is the reason we model systems with and without a battery before you decide.
A Belmont system that performed well in year one can drift lower if a tree has grown into the afternoon sun. If your output has slipped, we check production data, inspect the array, and test inverters before blaming the panels. Our maintenance work covers diagnostics, inverter and battery replacement, and adding panels or storage later. If roofing is coming, we remove and reinstall the array.

Let us help reduce your energy bills with solar panels, battery storage, and electric vehicle charging. As one of the best solar companies serving the Bay Area, Peninsula Valley, we offer complete design, permitting, and installation services so you can tap into clean electricity while maintaining grid independence. Our crew includes journeyman electricians and licensed C-10 solar energy contractors to ensure electrical code compliance and durable installations.

We design and install grid-tied solar systems using high-efficiency panels and Enphase microinverters, paired with advanced smart monitoring.

We install home batteries, such as Tesla Powerwall or Enphase IQ, to store surplus solar power generated during the day so you can use it at night or when the power goes out.

We install all types of EV chargers, from wall-mounted connectors to outlets. Our service includes an electrical-panel assessment, permit handling, and installation in compliance with local codes.

For homeowners with older systems, particularly those who wish to stay on California’s NEM2 program, we provide safe removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of solar arrays with updated hardware.

A solar array can generate power for decades if properly maintained. We offer performance monitoring, diagnostic testing, inverter and battery replacements, and system expansions, such as adding extra panels or storage.

Our consultations are complimentary to give you the space to ask questions and understand what clean energy can realistically deliver for you. We assess your electricity use, roof orientation, and shading, then present a clear design with equipment choices, warranties, and projected savings.
Call (650) 906-7626 or send a message through our contact page. The consultation and system sizing are free.

Often, yes. It depends on which roof planes get sun and when. We run a shade analysis, and microinverters limit the damage from partial shading. Sometimes the answer is fewer panels in better spots.
The city offers an automated platform through Symbium for eligible residential solar and battery projects. We submit the design and handle inspections and utility approval.
In most cases, yes. Many existing systems can be retrofitted with storage. We check your inverter and panel compatibility, and handle permitting and interconnection for the upgrade.
Yes. We review panel capacity and load first, then install a Tesla Wall Connector or another home charger.
